School Art Program

The 1770 Art Show instigated the Large Canvas School Project (LCSP) in 2014. That first year, a total of four schools participated. In 2015, six schools took part, and in 2016 and '18 eight local schools submitted entries. All schools (except the ABC school, see below) are within a 100klm radius of Agnes Water.

Each school is presented with a large canvas to use to create a work of art within a given theme.
Canvases from participating schools are displayed at the 1770 Art Show, and while it is not a competition, a gift is presented to each school in recognition of their participation.

The LCSP provides many children with their first experience of creating a large painting and visiting a gallery-style display and exhibition. This project has been a great success in actively involving the local schools with the 1770 Art Show.

The ABC School
In 2015, the 1770 Art Show invited an international school to participate, adding a new and exciting dimension to the LCSP. The Anak Bangsa Cerdas (ABC) School, located in Pandaan Pasuruan, East Java, has had an existing relationship with the Agnes Water State School's Language Other Than English (LOTE) program for several years. Their entry is always highly anticipated and enjoyed by students and adults alike.

The LCSP is made possible through the generosity of dedicated sponsors. The 1770 Art Show would like to thank Karen Thompson, Mr. Josef Konrad and ArtPlus Bundaberg for their support of this innovative project.
